Dear Future Freshman,

I’m glad that you are now a part of our program. I bet you won’t be disappointed. However, I must warn you that your life as a student at the Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod will be difficult and challenging. No pain, no gain as it is said. Anyway, you will have great fun there.

Here is what I really advise you to do to make your first year of college productive and unforgettable.

1. Do as much as possible in advance

You will have A LOT OF home assignments. Try to do them well and send in time. If you see you have a lot to do for the week, try to organize your time to do some assignments in advance. That doesn’t guarantee you that you will have some time to play and relax because you always have something to do but still you will feel better and calmer. So I’m sure that time management should become your best friend.

AND DON’T POSTPONE your homework thinking you will someday have time to do it. You won’t, believe me. If you keep postponing assignments you will later find yourself snowed under with them.

2. Be attentive

You should be really attentive to succeed in your studies. Listen to your teachers well during classes. Try to pay attention to everything teachers say. It can suddenly appear in tests. That’s why, please, please, don’t get distracted.

Besides, be attentive during tests. You will have a lot of time to complete your test, you can easily do everything. And don’t forget to check every word.

3. Please, don’t overthink and overcomplicate things.

Everything is much easier than you think.
