The main character`s soundtrack
When I start thinking about a soundtrack to the film “Looking for Alaska” the first song which comes to my mind is “How to save a life”. And the soundtrack would be addressed to Pudge (and, maybe, the Colonel). It’s something like a hint for him (or they) how to deal with such a moody girl as Alaska. I fully understand that for now, it’s not that apparent, but Alaska is the character who worth attention (because even the book is titled after her). Alaska is in danger and she desperately needs help. Just think of her macabre jokes about death (or take into consideration the way she once said that she smoked to die). That’s why although the soundtrack would be addressed to Pudge (a.k. a. Miles), the main character for me is still Alaska Young.

An actor for the part of the main character
We don’t know much about Alaska’s past yet, but judging by her behavior now we can be sure that she is an impulsive, self-destructive, and mysterious girl who is ready to act rebelliously. Moreover, she usually doesn’t really meditate on any possible consequences of her actions. And based on her traits such a “reckless” girl should have an interesting appearance. Unfortunately, I haven’t found in the book the detailed description of Alaska’s appearance, just a few words how beautiful she is. And that gives me a right to imagine her.
For me, Alaska Young is a slender young lady with dark-brown wavy hair. Her face is thin and has a rosy complexion. That makes her look a little younger than she actually is. And I guess she uses a lot of makeup to emphasize her round emerald eyes. Another her notable feature is her ski-slope nose. Alaska doesn’t have full lips, instead, they are quite thin. A little dimple shows up when she smiles. It’s important for the heroine to have a sly grin, because that what Alaska has. Besides, the actress should have the ability to talk extremely fast but, at the same time, clear. One last thing I’d like to see in the heroine is her heart on her sleeve. Facial expressions are everything for Alaska Young.

Surprising I’ve found such an actress who would be perfect for the part of Alaska. It’s a British movie star Kaya Scodelario. Just look at her and you won’t have any doubts.
